I love Carhartt's R 27 because they are built to last and keep you warm during the Cold and rainy seasons year after year. I am still wearing the R 27's from almost 10 years ago. To me that shows the quality that Carhartt brings when you buy their products. There are quite a few Mfrs. who try to copy what Carhartt does each and when I speak to the younger generation workers who purchase these cheaper in price products they always tell me their bibs don't even last but 1-2 years until they start falling apart. I always tell them that if you purchase Carhartt once just to try them on and wear them for one Winter season they will come to realize that they will definitely save money because Carhartt's are built to last. The quality speaks for itself.Unfortunately I will have to exchange my bibs for the next waist size up but Amazon has made it so easy to exchange them and I get free shipping and free returns with Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime pays for itself during the Holiday seasons, Birthdays, just about anything you could wish for Amazon Prime is my go to online source for Carhartt and many other products. I can't say enough good things that both Carhartt and Amazon bring to the table. For those of you who are considering the R 27 Bibs, you can't go wrong, expecially if you buy directly from Amazon and you have "Amazon Prime!. Thank you, M.C. , a Safety Professional on Ft. Hood, TexasI read all the reviews on sizes and had conflicting suggestions. I just received my order and here's the real deal on the size. I am a true 32/32. This is the size I always buy for pants since I was 18 years old. I'm 47 and I'm still a true 32/32 and weigh 185 lbs. Taking the reviews into consideration, I ordered a 36/32. The length (32) fits perfectly and just barely touches the floor when I'm bare footed or in socks. The waist size 36 is too big for what I wanted. Ordering two sizes up would have been perfect if I was wearing thick pants and a thick coat/hoodie with this. So if you live in extreme cold weather, order two sizes up. If you're looking to wear them over regular pants with a light hoodie, order them one size up. I wish I could return these for a 34/32 because I wanted the second option but unfortunately that isn't a size option for some reason. The quality of the product seem fairly good and I love the green color. But I did notice the stitching where the sides button up around the waist are already coming undone. I'll just strengthen the stitching myself. Other than that, it's seems to be a great product.Absolutely love them, they were perfect! The sandstone doesn’t have as much rigidity as the usual carhartt brand, meaning they had the flexibility to were they are comfortable without breaking in, and still had the durability that the carhartt name provides! Great flexibility, I was able to move around/ climb around freely, and stayed plenty warm! I work in Chicago all year long and we know it’s not the coldest, but it can get cold when it wants too. I paired the bibs with some wrangler insulated blue jeans, a hoodie underneath and a zip up over all of it and it got me through close to zero temperatures while still maintaining my mobility and not feeling like a marshmallow! As far as sizing went, I’m 5’9 , 170lbs, athletic build, usually wear a 33x 32 normal jean size. Listen to the comments and went 36x32, fit perfectly and did the job of keeping me warm while I work! Will definitely but then again when the first pair wears out!If you've never tried on a pair before, you should do that before purchasing online. Go to a local store and try on the sizes. They always are large in the legs, however the waist is generally the issue. For me, I like to order them a bit on the larger size because for one, they tend to fit snug, and secondly, I layer my clothes in the winter, so having a little extra room is always a plus. If you order them in your jean size, they will be too small. Pretty hard to beat this brand when it comes to outdoor work wear. I work for the railroad, and in the yard they are a must have. On the road, they are great because they can be packed in with the rest of your stuff, and fit over your normal clothes for when you need to get out and do any work. The sandstone seems to fit the best in my opinion. For whatever reason, this color is generally the most preworn feeling. The other colors tend to be very stiff when new. If you work outside in cold weather, there is no other substitute. They are extremely durable, and although not waterproof, they hold up very well in snow and blizzard conditions. When they get wet they are thick enough to keep you dry, but the outside do tend to freeze. I have multiple pairs so I can rotate them and let them dry out.Fit well made well very warm in temps below freezing.I ordered these based on the cold Winter Flagstaff had last year and the heavy snows we experienced from time to time. My husband was in need of something that could help keep him warm and dry while out pushing the snowblower around the driveway. I paid attention to those who recommended that you order a couple of sizes bigger as he intended on wearing jeans or sweat pants underneath them. So, I ordered two sizes bigger than his current jean size and it turned out to be just perfect. The length is correct as well which means that if in stocking feet your 34" jeans drag on the floor... so will these so watch how you order the length. Though he's not yet had to put them on as we're having a dry Winter, the look and feel of these suggests that they will deliver what they projected. They feel like a very heavy canvass with a quilted nylon lining that is insulated. These are not like snowmobile pants but more like a lined work bib for those who have never seen nor worn Carhartt clothing before. I'm waiting for the a good snow fall so I can be sure he really likes them - they appear to be just perfect for what he wanted.these were bought to use for working outside in winter over top of pants so bought two sizes larger than pant size and fit perfect. found them very warm even though temperatures were extremely cold -20 and colder, although if you plan to not wear pants under them you may want to buy heavier R rating. Over all I found these extremely warm, well fitting and would buy them again.Due to the great price I was a little worried as to what might arrive, but what you see is what you get. These overalls are true to size so be sure if you want to wear a thick sweater under them that you order one, possibly even two sizes up as others have suggested. We went one size larger and they were perfect. Husband loves the green.Product came early. Sizes are hard to judge based on the measurements provided. Length was perfect, waist is snug. My son who works as a cribber stayed warm in them all day. Easy to wash, just hang them to dry as I have a feeling they would shrink otherwiseOrdered one size larger waist size but normal length. Bib pants were way too long, had to have 2” cut off the legs and I’m 6’ tall. Only ordered 32” length. Normally wear 34” pants. Ordered 36” waist and the waist is very tight and I normally owear 34” pants. The overalls came in on time and packaged nicely! They aren’t the super insulated ones so if you want ones that have that think heavy insulation these aren’t it. Still a nice insulated barrier non the less. havent worn them in extremely cold temperatures yet but I’m sure they will be fine with some thermal underwear
